Victoria Haibour Residence
Situated along the coastline of North Point, this residence captures the expansive beauty of Victoria Harbour. By dissolving traditional architectural boundaries, the design seamlessly integrates the dynamic seascape into everyday living. Embracing a philosophy of quiet luxury, the interior avoids excessive ornamentation. Instead, it relies on precise proportions, tactile materials, and the poetic interplay of light to create a tranquil sanctuary grounded in nature and emotion
Deviating from conventional direct illumination, a Viabizzuno fixture casts a soft, upward glow, creating a gentle, ripple-like ceiling texture that blurs rigid architectural lines. As evening falls, this ambient light converses intimately with the harbour's nightscape. Anchoring the three-meter-high volume, a Liaigre floor lamp stands as a contemporary sculpture, transcending its functional purpose to infuse the minimalist space with profound emotional resonance and architectural strength.
A space’s true sophistication often emerges from the subtle interplay and breathing room between materials. Exercising restraint against superfluous ornamentation, the design allows the uncompromising edge of metal to naturally interlock with the warmth of rustic timber and matte undertones. The visual tension is built entirely upon this clash of tactile sensations: rough against smooth, stark coldness meeting gentle warmth. As the soft light of Victoria Harbour washes over these surfaces, the inherent fibrous memory and the patina of time within the materials are quietly and fully revealed.

A sculptural piece by contemporary artist Shen Mu introduces a fluid, dynamic energy, reminiscent of frozen water, which fundamentally disrupts static spatial norms. Echoing this fluidity, the rigid walls of the original enclosed bedroom were dismantled. In their place, a system of folding doors and switchable privacy glass was introduced. When fully opened, the area seamlessly expands the living zone, offering a rare sense of spaciousness within dense urban housing; when closed, a fold-down bed integrated into the bespoke cabinetry instantly transforms the space into a secluded retreat, demonstrating a flexible and highly restrained aesthetic.

Light enters this space with measured restraint. We replaced the standard wash of LED strips on the stainless-steel display with Viabizzuno micro-track spotlights. Their similar cold finish allows the fixtures to disappear into the metal's texture. Shifting from broad surfaces to precise points, the light avoids meaningless flooding, choosing instead to delicately outline the displayed objects. This intimate tension between light and dark creates a cinematic depth and a compelling emotional rhythm throughout the room.
Stepping into the study, the eye is immediately met with the warm, tactile grain of natural timber. The space actively sheds the external clamor, turning inward to cultivate a profoundly relaxed sanctuary that soothes the senses. A seamless, elongated desk stretches along the architectural horizontal, framing a perfect visual dialogue with Victoria Harbour.

The physical boundaries between the bedroom and the en-suite are quietly dissolved by a set of sleek sliding doors, allowing light and air to flow seamlessly. The window blinds act as a delicate filter, reshaping natural daylight into a uniform, calming glow that sets a profoundly restrained spatial tone. Within this introspective retreat, the quiet elegance of floating stone contrasts with the rustic texture of natural timber. A deep, rich red headboard emerges as the absolute visual anchor, gently gathering and grounding the room's scattered emotional energies. Devoid of superfluous embellishments, the authentic tactility of the materials and the natural rhythm of light and shadow interweave to forge a profound sense of tranquility and sanctuary unique to this private sphere.

Stay curious and look inward. My work moves between architecture, art, and introspection, exploring the emotional and intangible qualities of space.I am drawn to the relationship between people and their surroundings, and to the ways material, light, texture, and proportion can shape everyday experience. Through a rigorous yet intuitive design process, I seek to create spaces that are quiet, tactile, and emotionally resonant—spaces that reflect beauty, feeling, and an authentic way of living.
