1. Movers and Shakers
The opening exhibition at the new national architecture centre, RIBA North, considers Liverpool’s maverick history of architectural ambition in ‘Liverpool(e): Movers, Shakers, Architectural Risk-Takers’. Until 16 September 2017
2. Segals Self-builds
Writer Alice Grahame and photographer Taran Wilkhu have curated a richly illustrated study of Walter Segal’s council-run self-build scheme. Thirty years on from the estate’s completion in 1987, the book tells the story of two of London’s most unusual streets. ‘Walters Way & Segal Close: Walter Segal and London’s Self-build Communities’ is published by Park Books and is available from August 2017. –

3. Lost & Found
‘Fragments of Tomorrow: Modernism Lost & Found in the City of London’ is a walking tour of architectural reinvention. Join The London Ambler to explore London’s modernist icons, brutalist skyscrapers and aerial walkways. 12 August 2017

The Photographers Gallery presents acclaimed American artist Gregory Crewdson’s meticulously staged shots of the streets and interiors of small-town America. This exhibition departs from his usual suburban subjects to explore uncomfortable figurative dramas in more natural environments. Until 8 October 2017
